Joining MLC Ballkids

Applications to become an MLC Ballkid are received from all over Australia and overseas in March each year. An early start helps to ensure there is plenty of time for MLC Ballkids to train prior to the Australian Open.

Each year, up to 2000 young people aged 12 to 15 years apply and are invited to selection trials and training camps all over Australia. Positions are hotly contested.

The benefits of becoming an MLC Ballkid are many and varied including:

• best seats in the house – MLC Ballkids are up close and personal to exhilarating displays of tennis from the world’s best
• new skills – MLC Ballkids improve their abilities and learn new skills
• fun and friendship – MLC Ballkids get to meet new people and make new friends while taking part in an exciting sporting event
